Dr Pathik graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2006.  He undertook his Basic Physician Training at Royal Melbourne Hospital and his Advanced Training in Cardiology at Flinders Medical Centre.

Dr Pathik is currently a Research Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing within the Department.

His research interests include understanding the mechanisms of persistent atrial fibrillation, namely the concept of epicardial-endocardial dissociation as well as determining the cause of sudden cardiac death in chronic kidney disease patients.

He is a recipient of the co-funded National Heart Foundation/NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship and the Margorie Hooper Scholarship.
