Danielle West is a Registered Nurse and is the Arrhythmia Research Nurse Manager and Clinical Trials Coordinator at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She is a highly experienced nurse in cardiology, research and general nursing with a special interest in research and patient education.
Danielle completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 2003 and completed her Graduate Nurse Program and Critical Care Program at Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia. She went on to specialise as an Intensive Care Nurse focusing on Cardiology and Cardiothoracics, using this role to travel Australia and the world. Danielle has lived and worked in both metropolitan and rural areas within Australia, Dublin (Ireland), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates), before moving and settling in Melbourne. In 2014, Danielle began working as a research nurse - conducting research studies in cardiology and diabetes. She went on to complete a post graduate qualification in Health Promotion through Curtin University, WA, in 2018 and a post graduate qualification in Nursing through University of Wollongong, NSW, in 2020.
Danielle joined our Melbourne Heart Rhythm team in January 2018 and is responsible for coordinating, managing and overseeing electrophysiology research within Melbourne Health.
